Polythene Bag Printing
Polythene carrier bags, or plastic carrier bags, are offered in a variety of styles, including Patch Handle bags, Flexiloop bags and Duffle or Kit Style bags. All polythene and plastic carriers are available in 48 micron, 63 micron and 75 micron gauge film, giving a choice of strengths for differing applications. Duffle carriers tend to be produced in 75 micron film as standard.
Although polythene bags are unpopular from an environmental perspective it is important to recognise that they are often the most cost-effective and practical solution available. With this in mind we also offer an environmentally-friendly polythene bag which is printed onto Biothene film (see environmental considerations below).

Environmental considerations
Biothene is an additive which degrades polythene under the influence of light and heat. The addition of 2% to 3% Biothene will produce a photochemically and thermally degradable film.
Once the material has been broken down into small particles these degrade biologically into a non-toxic residue within 12-18 months.
Biothene can be used for food contact as it complies with the EU directive 2002/72/EC and 2004/19/EC relating to plastic materials that come into contact with foodstuffs.
We are able to supply Biothene bags with the Biothene logo and the wording "This bag is made from Biothene degradable material which degrades within approximately 18 months". This message is optional but provides the end user with the reassurance that the bag is environmentally friendly.
